The Apostle Paul wrote: “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Phi. 3:13-14). Paul says he was pressing toward the mark. The pursuit is not grasping after something unreal and unknown. He was pressing on with godliness and contentment. He had learned in whatsoever state he was in to be content. As preachers sound the trumpet loud and clear so people will know the battle for truth is on. Do not be distracted by the smiling tolerance of a new ideology of peaceful coexistence with everyone that is being pushed upon us. Let us stand for the right and not lose sight of our duty to serve the Lord, do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God. At the end of our days, that is all that matters. Loving God and keeping His commandments.

John said, “We love him because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19). It brings happiness to love God. We are to love the Lord with all our heart. Why, because He first loved us, and we should return that love to Him. We also need our family and friends to love. To visit with friends and enjoy good times together brings happiness into our lives. Holidays like Thanksgiving fill our hearts with joy as we gather with family and share a peaceful time sharing our love for one another.

“In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began” (Titus. 1:2). Hope, what a pleasant-sounding word. It instills in our hearts that of something good. I love the word so much I named one of my daughters, Hope. The hope of heaven keeps us going through the sickness, pain, disappointment, suffering, and hardship that this life brings. Remember what Paul wrote, these present sufferings are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed. God shall wipe away all tears from our eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain. There’s our hope, the promise of a home eternal in heaven with God and Christ our beloved Savior.

May you find true peace that only comes from knowing and following God. God is faithful!

God Bless -Todd
