Summer Camp 2019
A Note From The Director
From the Director… Thanks for visiting our summer camp website! Camp Meribah has been a ministry of the Centerville Church of Christ since 1969. I have been blessed to serve as the camp director since 2008. My family loves spending time on The Hill and I hope you will join us this summer!
We offer four different sessions at Camp Meribah. Below are this summer’s sessions and a brief description of each one: 2020
SUMMER CAMP AT MERIBAH
June 8-10 Day Camp Ages 4-8 $75
June 10-12 Mini-Meribah Finished K – Finished 5th grades $75
June 14-18 Youth Week Finished 2nd – Finished 6th grades $200
June 21-25 Teen Week Finished 6th – Finished 12th grades $200
Day Camp is Monday-Wednesday from 8:00 am-3:00 pm each day. Day Campers attend Vacation Bible School at the Centerville Church of Christ, go to the creek and city swimming pool, play on the Mackendox Playground at Camp Meribah, slide on the slip-n-slide, and enjoy many other fun activities. This is a great session to begin with if your child has never attended camp or does not like spending the night away from home.
Mini-Meribah is a shorter version of our Youth Week. Campers check-in on Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm and check-out on Friday evening at 5:30 pm. Mini-Meribah features many of the same activities as Youth Week such as team games, creek time, swimming at the city pool, Mackendox play time, devotionals, character appearances, and other fun activities. Mini-Meribah serves as a good transitional session for those campers wishing to spend the night at camp, but perhaps not ready for Youth Week.
Youth Week is a longer session for campers who are prepared to spend more time away from home. Campers check-in at 3:00 pm on Sunday and check-out at 5:30 pm on Thursday. Youth Week includes team games, arts and crafts, creek time, swimming at the city pool, Great American Campout, Ken McDonald Hall Lock-In, Mackendox Block Party, Fireworks by Dud’s, devotionals, skits, Nighttime Scavenger Hunt, and other fun activities.
Teen Week is our most popular session each summer. This week tests one’s endurance as we are constantly on-the-go, participating in the traditional camp activities but also going on special trips. In the past, these trips have included Laser Quest, Buffalo River Canoeing, roller skating, Nashville Shores, Nashville Sounds games, bowling, karaoke, Tennessee River tubing, and other surprises. Campers check-in at 3:00 pm on Sunday and check-out at 5:30 pm on Thursday.
As you can see, there are sessions for kids of every age offered at Camp Meribah. If your age allows you to attend more than one session, we would be glad to have you multiple times. Applications will be mailed out in April to those who attended Camp Meribah last summer and also available on this website and the church office. Be sure to turn in your application and deposit as soon as possible because sessions fill up quickly. If you are interested in working at Camp Meribah, staff applications will also be available online and in the church office in April. I hope to see you this summer on The Hill!
