Our Ministry Fair was a great day! I want to again thank all our deacons for their efforts to present the ministries that this congregation is involved in. With the information presented through this ministry fair surely you found a place to use or develop the talents that God has given you. The work of the local congregation is dependent on efforts of each member. The Centerville Church of Christ has a long history of faithful men and women who have tirelessly prayed and worked for the growth of the Kingdom here in this community. May God continue to bless our work for generations to come.

As we talked about on Sunday, all the talent in the world is useless until put to use. All the training and education inthe world, as helpful as it may be in the development of talent, goes to waste unless those talents are put to use.Once we have the ability, then we must be willing to get out there and put those talents to work for the Lord, and inthe way He would have us use them. Here is where we must look around and see where we are needed most, andthen get involved in what needs to be done. Here is where we must not wait for an invitation or for someone else totell us what we need to be doing, but the time to take the initiative and get to work.

Jesus once said, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest tosend out laborers into His harvest” (Matt. 9:37- 38); He also said, “lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they arealready white for harvest!” (John 4:35). If we see there is work to be done, let us join in or, at the very least, praythat others will join in with us; but let us not close our eyes to the work that has to be done, nor shirk ourresponsibilities. Get involved!

Let us never forget that the Lord knows what we can do and cannot do, and He also knows whether or not we are willing to do the work He has given us; we cannot make excuses for not being involved when the Lord knows otherwise. God had an answer for every excuse of Moses (Exodus 3), and He has an answer for every one we might come up with too. Lets make sure we are involved in the Lord’s Church!

Let us not bury our talents, as did the one-talent man, but put them to work for the Lord and for His glory. He has entrusted the most valuable thing to each of us.

God Bless -Todd
