We began this past Sunday a series intended to help us understand better some basic fundamentals of Christianity that many may have forgotten. We began by looking into what the Bible says about, ‘Who is God?’ The one true God who is the creator of everything! The one we read about in Genesis, the God who speaks, and the entirety of the world is created. But throughout the ages many refuse to know or just don’t know who He is. I firmly believe that if people truly know who He is their lives will reflect more of the good that God is.

God reveals Himself to us through His word, His eternalness, His almightiness, His power, and His love. If we want to find Him, we only have to look. “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13). God himself said, “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.: (Jer. 9:2-24).

God is love! “We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in Him (1 John 4:16). God’s love is everlasting and because of His love we have a chance of eternal life with Him. “By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:9-10). It constantly amazes me that no matter how many times man invents some form of unrighteousness and evil against God, He still loves us enough to give us a chance at being saved. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

Who is God? “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the ALMIGHTY.” (Rev. 1:8) God Bless -Todd
